OPINION

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - This Week - Chris Hope Features Editor

Agreed value insurance is invaluable to my mind. It ensures that should the worst happen, the potential double-whammy of not only losing a car that I’m deeply invested in (financially and emotionally) but then being left to make compromises on what I can spend to replace it because I’m out of pocket can be avoided.

If you’ve spent many years with your beloved classic and innumerable hours maintaining and restoring it, then you may feel no amount of money can make up for the loss of your pride and joy. All the more reason then to ensure that it is protected in the full.

The process couldn’t be simpler: In my case, the Triumph Sports Six Club valued my TR7. All I had to do was complete a form and pop it in the post with some photos backing up my impressions of its condition. There is a charge for this, but the peace of mind is priceless.
