Renovo Black Leather Reviver £12.95 for 200ml

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - This Week - Richard Gunn ❚ Renovointerna

Many products claim to clean and refresh leather and Renovo’s Black Leather Reviver is one of the latest. With my Saab 900’s seats in need of some attention, it seemed a prime opportunity to put Renovo’s claims of ‘unbelievable results’ to the test.

The product – a thick, black goo – is applied in small quantities using a lint-free cloth. It’s then buffed off using another cloth. Obviously, you won’t be able to use it on any hide colour other than black, and be prepared for dirty cloths and hands afterwards – gloves are recommended. We wouldn’t go so far as to say that the results are ‘unbelievable’, but they’re pretty good for something costing just £12.95. The seats’ colour became deeper and shinier, and scratches were successfully minimised, especially on the worn driver’s seat bolster (see pictures). There’s a nice leather fragrance left too, and Renovo claims that the product also guards against bacteria, superbugs and UV rays. Easy to use, effective and there was still over half left over after treating the Saab’s interior. You won’t want to hide your, um, hide away after this.

Looks – and smells – much better.

Scratched and faded –not pretty.
