Don’t delay – buy today!

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - This Week -

I read with interest, if not surprise, that 1970s-80s cars are now gaining interest and popularity as future classics.

The irony of this scenario is that the cars I coveted as a young man were way above my pay scale. So, dreams they remained and now, several decades later with their prices on the up and minimum wages and austerity the new buzz words they are once again out of my reach.

So, with this in mind I would like to help others get ahead for the next line of classics of maybe 30 years away. Might I suggest the following: Renault 16TX, Fuego and 5 GT Turbo. Austin Allegro Equipe and Estate; Vauxhall Cavalier SRi MkII (hatchback). Ford Sierra 2.8i 4x4 and StreetKa. Subaru XT. Mazda RX8. Any Daihatsu. Renault Twingo 0.9 TCe; Toyota Corolla T Sport. ❚J V Herring, Great Shelford, Cambridge
