Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Buying & Selling -

The Rover Sports Register’s Paul Williams has owned three Rover 600s – and he says he bought the first one by accident. ‘I needed some everyday transport in a hurry as my car needed repairs,’ says Paul. ‘A 30,000-mile example came up locally for £200 and I bought it. That car wasn’t especially reliable but I replaced it with another that I drove through Europe on a family holiday and it was the perfect companion. In 2015 I bought a 620 GSi with just 3000 miles on the clock for £1400 – an absolute bargain, in my opinion. That car has now done 14,000 miles. It was my everyday transport for a while but now it gets used more sparingly. With folding rear seats the practicality is good and so is parts availability as so many of these cars are still being scrapped. But you don’t have to source spares exclusively from breakers. Thanks to the Honda link there are lots of new parts available too, in either Honda or Rover packaging.’
