HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD IT?
I got it in December 1993 from a private seller in Aviemore for £4500. I’ve since stripped it and fitted a new powder-coated and rustproofed chassis. The old one now hangs on the garage wall. The car’s been rewired, I’ve had the seats reupholstered and the alloy wheels refurbished. The body was repainted in Ferrari Rosso Corsa though I retained the gold bonnet colour it came with. A dashboard glassfibre section from Redline of Caterham was inserted, restoring the original gauge layout. The side screens were rebuilt.
HOW MUCH HISTORY?
There’s a list of all the previous owners from the DVLA and all the old MoTs have been kept. It had previous owners in both Dorset and Devon.
WHAT’S LEFT TO DO ON IT?
Just get the fire extinguishers back into test date and drive it.
HAS IT BEEN MODIFIED?
I’ve fitted a Vulcan 711M 1700cc engine with Formula Ford-type alloy head, fast road cam and lightened flywheel. This has been dyno’d showing 105bhp at the wheels. It’s also had a Raceco lightweight titanium side exhaust and a Safety Devices rollcage. The radiator has been uprated with an extra core, there’s a new limited-slip diff (the chassis number indicates an RS diff was fitted originally) and I’ve fitted Willans seat belts.
