TV Land Rover for £10k

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - This Week -

Fans of the BBC’s now axed daytime TV show The Coroner could own the lead character’s 1977 Land Rover Series III for less than £10,000.

The BBC cancelled the crime drama after its second series, which prompted the production company to get in touch with Anglia Car Auctions to put it under the hammer.

It will go on sale at Anglia’s auction this Saturday (17 June) with a reserve of between £7000 and £9000.

The show starred Claire Goose as single mum Jane Kennedy who returns to her fictional hometown of Lighthaven in south Devon to investigate murders. Coroner Kennedy’s Land Rover can be seen in in the background of shots across locations in Dartmouth, Torquay, and Broadsands Beach, Paignton.

Fans of the TV show have already launched a petition urging the BBC to reconsider its decision not to renew

The Coroner for a third series. It has attracted more than 2288 signatures.

Auction manager Guy Snelling says: ‘While it’s not a first-class restoration it’s in really good shape with an MoT until April 2018.’

TV drama Series III is being auctioned with a £7-9k estimate.
