bid to take on a shere climb
Two extra places up for grabs to aid local charities
Although entries for this year’s Shere Hill Climb are already officially closed, two extra places have been made available and are now open for bidding for charity.
The two successful bidders will be able to take part in the fifth running of the event in the Surrey Hills on 3 September, alongside 150 other drivers. All profits from the event will go to local good causes; the event has raised more than £50,000 to date.
The two extra places have been released in conjunction with Cherry Trees children’s respite care home and Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice family care service. Potential entrants need to nominate which charity they wish to drive for on the day and provide details of the car they will drive (with a photograph) along with their bid. These must be received by 30 June and be sent to: info@ sherehillclimb.co.uk
The current 150-car grid includes a 1907 Berliet, Ford Mustang, Lagonda, Alfa Romeo GTAm, Ford Cortina, Nissan Skyline and McLaren MP4-12C. There will also be car displays, among them presentations by the Daimler SP250 and AC Cobra clubs.
From a standing start in 2013 shere Hill climb, near Guildford, surrey has become one of the most successful hill climbs in the Uk.
