HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD IT?

I acquired this one family owned 1972 Rover P5B Coupé, in Admiralty Blue over Silver, in 2009. It had spent all its life to that point – 37 years – in Dundee, never having left the city. It was only ever driven on a Friday and never in the wet! I found it through contacts in the Rover P5 Club and paid £4000 for the car. I am the third registered owner, though the original owner passed it on to his son in law. It is as near as you can get to how it left the factory. In fact the car is probably one of the very few completely original P5s left.

HOW MUCH HISTORY?

The mileage showing is 50,000 and there is all the supporting paperwork need to prove this is genuine. Documents are available back to the original Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) in 1972. Quite possibly uniquely, the mechanic who carried out that PDI serviced it consecutively every year for the next 37 years. Since my acquisition of the car he still advises me on any maintenance matters, and has continued to supervise any work that has been needed.

WHAT’S LEFT TO DO ON IT?

Just to preserve the car in its remarkable condition.

HAS IT BEEN MODIFIED?

No, there have been no modifications – this car provides the pure P5B driving experience.
