Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Buying & Selling -

‘I owned a few of these back in the 1990s and always found them comfortable and economical to run, but having realised that they were all disappearing I was keen to buy another. This one is a 1988 213S that I’ve owned since December 2015; I found it advertised on the internet for just £350. It was being sold on behalf of an owner who was no longer able to drive, and I managed to get it for £300. The condition could have been poor at that price but it turned out that the car had been looked after and garaged, and it had low mileage; it’s still only covered 59,000 miles now. Rust can be a real problem with these but it just needed some work on the rear wheelarches and I’ve since had it rust-proofed inside the doors and underneath. I’ve also had the roof lining done because it was in a poor state, but other than that it’s only needed some new tyres and a replacement cam belt. I only use it for shows and weekends now but they are great cars and it’s a shame there are so few left.’
