Record club entry for Manchester
This year’s Footman James Classic Car Show in Manchester has attracted so many clubs that organisers have had to put a waiting list in place.
95 clubs are squeezing into the Show, which takes place on 16-17 September at EventCity in Manchester. The Show’s inaugural year (2013) had just 50.
Show organiser, Andy Rouse, says: ‘We’ve grown nearly 100 per cent in terms of club content since the inaugural show in 2013. And this year, we’ve already had a really encouraging response from all quarters. We’re particularly thrilled that so many clubs have applied to be a part of it.
‘Clubs are the heartbeat of this whole hobby, and we are honoured that so many are choosing to join us at this great showcase for the classic car community. The show is fast gaining a reputation for great cars, in a great venue and a very friendly atmosphere.’
Live classic rally driving action will see rally-prepped Peugeots, Renaults, and Vauxhalls tearing round a short and technical section. Indoors, the show is set to feature hundreds of cars, along with a a show and shine contest, restoration demonstrations, and traders’ stalls.
