Rally GB allcomers!

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - This Week -

Classic rallying cars will compete with World Rally Championship contenders for the first time at the Wales Rally GB.

A new rule dispensation for the event, taking place on 26-29 October, means that all vehicles entering can have World Rally Championship entries. This means that Ford Escort MkIs and MkIIs can go head to head with the newest entries for the first time in more than 30 years.

Ben Taylor, managing director of Dayinsure Wales Rally GB says: ‘Britain’s WRC round is now genuinely open to those who want to take on the full challenge.

‘ There aren’t many sports where you can legitimately claim to be competing on the same field as the world stars.

‘Hopefully the fans are going to get to see a wider variety of amazing rally cars in the stages and it will also underline the fact that Wales Rally GB is about showcasing the very best of British rallying to the fans and to the world.’
