1968 Subaru 360
It might come as a surprise to younger enthusiasts, but not all Subarus are Imprezas – as as proved by this 360, the company’s first car. Built between 1958 and 1971, it was one of several small cars designed to get Japan mobile. Its lightweight glassfibre roof, would have made the two- cylinder, air-cooled, transverse- and rearmounted 360cc engine’s life that much easier. Barons’ later example is said to drive well and comes with a new MoT certificate. Lovers of unusual austerity motoring shouldn’t pass this one up.
