CAR OF 1954 WOLSELEY 6/90
This was an epoch-making year for the British motor industry as it marked the debut of the Wolseley 6/90. The Gerald Palmer lines were elegant but understated and the grille with the illuminated ‘ghost light’ badge was the epitome of dignity. It was a car with instant appeal to the solicitor/bank manager sector of the market but the 6/90’s lasting fame derives from the black and white world of B-film law enforcement. In countless lowbudget films, the mighty Wolseley of Justice would always arrive in the nick of time to prevent yet another low-budget heist at Merton Park Studios.
