LOSE YOURSELF IN 1954
What I especially enjoy about the publicity for British cars of this era is the overwhelming sense of jollity. You can almost hear everyone in this illustration of a Humber Super Snipe uttering the word ‘gosh’. Another common trope in motoring publicity from the early 1950s is the use of illustrations with an interesting interpretation of scale. In this example of masterful Rootes Group advertising, the Super Snipe looks almost as large as a double-decker bus.
