1962 BENTLEY S2
The Silver Cloud and its Bentley ‘S’ siblings have never been out of fashion, and their handsome looks effectively put paid to many of the specialist coachbuilders who supplied bodywork to the Crewe concern’s chassis. Historcs’ S2 was an impressive example, helped by its Sage over Smoke Green bodywork and dark green leather interior. The bodywork was good, too, with no unsightly sill or wheelarch blistering, and the paint was generally deep and scratch-free. The doors and bootlid (opening on to an equally tidy luggage compartment) opened and closed smoothly while the interior – said to have been refurbished recently – was excellent. This was very well bought.
