1 BMC/BL/ ROVER MINI
PRICE RANGE £650-40,000
Up from number four in our last list to the top slot, Minis – whatever their age – prove that small cars can have a big following. More Minis than ever are coming to auction, and while it’s easy to get swept along by the BMC Cooper-era phenomenon, there are still good, original regular models ripe for the plucking. Early 1970s cars are at last finding their feet, as are all Clubmans, estates being particularly highly prized. Values of the 1275GT, once seen as an effete Cooper replacement, are on the up, but affordable ones are still out there. Whichever model it is, the Issigonis genius of passenger space-defying external volume thoroughly deserves its top slot.
