Oldest ‘00 for sale

A BMW believed to be the oldest surviving roadworthy right-hand-drive 1600 coupé is for sale.

The 1967 49,085-mile 1602 has been on Jersey from new but is now in Dorset, priced at £14,950.

David Acon, spokesman for vendor, Le Riche, says: ‘ This is very original and rare car has been well-looked after. The BMW Car Club has confirmed it to be the oldest example of the coupé on the road. There is believed to be another early car unused in storage for many years but may not be older than the example we are offering.’ Nick Larkin
