1987 Lotus Esprit S3

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Buying & Selling -

The Esprit was lauded by many as the best junior supercar, and with good reason. Lotus showed a four-cylinder engine was just as good as anything bigger, and combined with legendary handling, the Esprit continued Lotus’ driver-involving theme. Five years in Cyprus has helped this car’s condition (described by the auctioner as ‘superb’) and service history back to the 1990s adds new-owner reassurance. Said to be in an unmolested/ unmodified state and with just 41,150 miles on the clock, this 172bhp high-compression 2.2-litre Series 3 car is a more interesting alternative to a 308 any day of the week.
