Cowley gems on display
The last Montego made is on show at an Oxford shopping centre. Templars Square is hosting the Cowley Classic Car Display, featuring a range of locally built classics, and celebrating the city’s automotive industry heritage.
Nine cars will be in the limelight there up to Sunday (12 August), among them a 1948 Morris Minor, the third oldest known, and a 1963 Morris Mini which has stayed in Oxfordshire since being built. The centrepiece is the last car off the line at Cowley – a 1994 Montego, due to return to the British Motor Museum tomorrow (10 August).
The display, an annual event since 2014, has been organised by local resident and Cowley car enthusiast Tanya Field.
