‘Popular mods are ECU and exhaust swaps’

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Living With Classics - ALAN MORGAN CHAIRMAN, CLUB LOTUS

‘Although modifications are popular, most M100s have been kept standard. When cars are upgraded it’s either to boost performance or to iron out weaknesses, such as the brakes. In many cases the Elan is upgraded because the original parts are unavailable or too costly. The most popular mods are ECU and exhaust swaps. The biggest benefit of chipping the Elan is not for ultimate power but to even out the torque curve. An exhaust change is a no-brainer too.’ clublotus.co.uk
