1996 Alfa Romeo RZ
A latter-day junior supercar, the 75-based RZ and its hardtop SZ were always going to be head-turners, thanks to their typically Zagato design.
But beneath those quirky looks was a highly competent car, the 3.0-litre V6 supplying plenty of performance, which helped cement its appeal with ‘real’ enthusiasts.
This car was originally sold to Japan and later sold by a London-based Ferrari specialist. Lovely throughout, it was hard to resist its charms, and the Silverstone throng thought so too, as it sold for well, well above its 50 grand upper estimate.
