1951 Humber Super Snipe diesel
Towering over most of the other lots, SWVA’s Super Snipe was one of 17 fitted with a Perkins diesel engine when new. It was built for Rootes Group’s private hire fleet. All round it wasn’t bad at all:
the paint was deep enough (but with to-beexpected blemishes) while the bodywork was tidy, with the big doors hanging well. The interior wasn’t bad either, the seats and door panels being good, the only downside was the front portion of the headlining had dropped. A fine old dowager.
