Bugatti flies high at Duxford
Type 44 and E-type quintet star at H&H’s summer sale
H&H’s Duxford sale offered plenty, but with many lots being offered via a ‘still interested?’ email a couple of days later, punters were clearly staying away – a result possibly of the school holidays having started.
Salvation came with the lovely 1929 Bugatti Type 44 being bought by an overseas enthusiast and the seriously shabby Mercedes-Benz 190SL project commanding a stiff £56,250, while a delightful 1937 Fiat Topolino was bought well at just under ten-and-a-half grand.
Five Jaguar E-types sold, including a one-owner 1970 Coupé, which made £78,750.
