WHY I LOVE MY 156 GTA

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Buying & Selling - PATRICK O’NEILL

Having owned four 156s, Patrick still has two of them, including a fine 2004 GTA. ‘Mechanically it’s been very reliable – all my 156s have been – and just needed servicing, fresh tyres, and the usual cambelt replacement. Unfortunately, sorting some later accident damage took a while. The original repair was poor, with another specialist having to pretty much start again, and parts delays didn’t help. I ended up giving it a total respray so the bodywork is pretty much in concours condition. The GTA is a really strong performer and I love its speed and handling, but living in London means it doesn’t get used as much as I’d like. Speed bumps don’t mix with the lowered GTA suspension! I definitely plan to hang on to it, though.’
