‘Your relationship with a 156 is unlikely to end in heartbreak’

‘For so long, buying an Alfa Romeo has been a process that many regarded as being driven by the heart, rather than the head. And yet, although the 156 is certainly at odds with the sensible options offered from the same era, more so than other Alfas, your relationship with a 156 is unlikely to end in heartbreak so long as you buy with care and seek out an example that has been properly looked after.

‘It looks special from the outside, feels special from the inside and is certainly special to drive. While the latter is especially true of the GTA, the lower specification cars are by no means best avoided. Quite the opposite, as it’s these cars that offer the best value for money.’
