stylish, Well-made and Well-engineered six-seater, With strong cUlt folloWing for the convertiBle

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - Of The Vauxhall Velox & Cresta Pa -

Ford didn’t embrace the fin as much as many rivals, even in the USA, yet strangely the British Ford Anglia of 1959 and the Classic/Capri of 1961 went for that look. However the Ford Consul/ Zephyr/Zodiac MkII boasted restrained but stylish tail fins. They might not have been big enough to have anyone’s eye out, but were prominent enough to compete with Rootes’ mid-range cars for having the first fins on the British market.

Stylish and well-made, they offered excellent performance in six-cylinder Zephyr and Zodiac forms. Convertibles command high prices today.
