Macmillan nets £3k
A Hampshire-based restoration specialist raised more than £3000 for a cancer support charity at its open morning.
Jim Stokes Workshops Group says more than 250 people showed up to support its Classics and Coffee initiative on 30 September, with an impressive £3336.21 being generated for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Waterlooville-based business encouraged enthusiasts to bring their classics along – and they responded in style, with more than 100 cars from across the decades going on show.
A company spokesman told CCW: ‘JSW Group regularly donates to a range of charities but wanted to make a significant donation to Macmillan and felt that an open morning would create the perfect opportunity to do that.
‘It also gave the many classic car enthusiasts that we have in this region the rare opportunity to see the kind of work that we do here.’
Big-hearted punters drank a lot of coffee to boost charity’s coffers.
