Axeman’s ‘Turbo Lover’ up for sale
Judas Priest lead guitarist, Glenn Tipton, is selling the 1985 Porsche 911 Turbo SE that inspired the platinum-selling album Turbo and the successful single Turbo Lover.
Tipton has owned the car from new; he collected it from the Stuttgart factory in 1985 while on a European tour with the band.
The 300bhp Porsche has been cherished by Tipton for three decades, but the musician admits he hasn’t had much time to drive it recently. That’s confirmed by the car’s odometer reading of just 14,100 miles.
It’s expected to fetch about £200k at Silverstone Auctions 21 October Porsche Sale.
SE model features wheelarch vents, sill extensions and a leather interior.
