1977 BL Mini 1000
With 1970s Minis making fewer auction appearances than 1960s models, this 18,000-miles-from-new 1000 was just the ticket for someone with a particular hankering for a pre-British Aerospace-era model.
Two lady owners plus the vendor have kept the mileage down to that barely-run-in 18k, and decades of regular maintenance stand it in good stead: it was kept serviced and MoT’d even when it saw very little – if any – use.
It’s a sheer delight that is every bit as charming as the early cars – and the kudos of being seldom-seen and less clichéd counts for something too. With great panelwork, amazingly good paint and a lovely interior, it’s a great buy for just over nine grand.
