BICESTER’S BRIGHT START
Auctioneer’s inaugural year at Bicester concludes with a strong and eclectic collection of offerings
Brightwells’ first Bicester season drew to a close with a strong, reasonably eclectic offering that mixed pre-war cars with later cars, with everything from projects to immaculate show cars included.
Top price of the day was £134,200 paid for a glassfibre-bodied 1976 Ferrari 308 GTB originally supplied to Australia, and imported by specialist Foskers in 2014, but for those with more limited funds there was plenty to choose from, including several Land Rovers, a Formula 250 single-seater and a seldom-seen Autovia, which went on to make a very healthy £82,500.
All-in-all a good end to Brightwells’ Bicester operations for 2017, and it returns to its Leominster base for its classic and vintage sale on 29 November.
