Rover and out and hi, ho silver!

Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - This Week -

I am pleased to see that Nick Larkin, who clearly loves BMC/BL/MG/Rover products, has bought the MG ZR that featured in the £500 Challenge series ( CCW, 18 October ).

I am also pleased that CCW champions the delights of the MG ZR/Rover 25, as they are very good cars and becoming rarer on our roads. I have always liked these Rovers and used to have a Rover 25 1.6i XL between 2002 and 2008.

I have recently been watching episodes of The Bill and couldn’t help spotting a number of interesting classics such as an early ‘70s Ford Mustang, Ford Cortina MkIV and V, and Austin Metro. There are also a large number of Luton-registered Vauxhall Cavalier MkIIs used as unmarked cars.

This product placement clearly works, because I now want a silver 1987 Cavalier 1.8i GL hatchback automatic! J Kendall, Wakefield, West Yorkshire
