Pitched battle in Dorset
Bidders fight long and hard over SWVA’s season-ending auction offerings
SWVA’s successful run of sales continued with another first-rate wrap-up to the year, with almost all motors being sold under the hammer as punters waded into arm-waving battle to secure themselves a fresh classic.
This was a typical SWVA offering – a smattering of pre-war cars joined regular classics and a few later models, with projects mixing with the delightfully original and the restored.
A one-owner 1987 MercedesBenz 230TE generated particular interest, while a 1972 Austin Mini 1000 automatic showed just how values of 1970s models have picked up strongly. Other delights included a low-mileage Volvo 343GL and a 1947 Humber Snipe that went for three times its upper estimate.
This was a great way for SWVA to end the year – its next sale in on Friday, 26 January.
