Classic Car Weekly (UK) - - BUYING & SELLING - RICHARD DREDGE CONTRIBUTOR

Some cars never get a look in, overshadowed instead by more glamorous – or just better supported – marques such as Triumph, Jaguar or MG. The Hillman Minx is just such a car. There isn’t much glamour to be found in the Minx range (with the exception of the unusual convertibles), but there is a great degree of dependability, affordability and practicality on offer – especially where the ultra-rare estates are concerned. Low values and a dowdy image mean that there aren’t many of these cars left – they cost too much to restore relative to what they’re worth. Despite this, the Minx will fit the bill perfectly if you’re looking for a reliable and practical family-friendly classic.
