Sto­ried sports car maker Lo­tus has lost its chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Jean-Marc Gales to head up his­toric race and restora­tion spe­cial­ist JD Clas­sics. He was re­spon­si­ble for turn­ing Hethel’s for­tunes around when in­stalled in 2014. Gales leaves as Lo­tus, a firm with a colour­ful fi­nan­cial his­tory, is safely lo­cated within Chi­nese car maker Geely’s port­fo­lio, join­ing Volvo, Polestar, Lon­don EV Com­pany (nee Lon­don Taxi Com­pany) and Lynk

& Co. He says: ‘I am ex­cited by the op­por­tu­nity to lead the JD Clas­sics team. This is a busi­ness with very talented tech­ni­cians and crafts­men.’

Jean-Marc Gales has joined JD Clas­sics.
