Classic car enthusiast, Tony Osborne, may soon be reunited with the Austin-Healey ‘Frogeye’ Sprite that he sold more than 50 years ago – or so his daughter, Hannah Throgmorton, hopes.

Registered 38 EUO, Hannah’s father’s former car is still on the road, having recently been taxed and tested.

Hannah made a Facebook appeal seeking information on the car that her 80-year-old father sold in the Sixties to help to pay for a family runabout.

She revealed: ‘I’ve actually managed to track down the car and I’m hoping for a reunion for dad.

‘Recent events have sent him down memory lane. It’s become very obvious that this car holds a very special place in his heart and that he regrets exchanging it for a sensible family car.

‘The current owner of the car is yet to confirm if this is possible but I’m keeping my fingers crossed.’

Tony Osborne sold his beloved Frogeye in order to buy a sensible family car.
