To mark this, the 70th anniversary of the Volkswagen Transporter – the world’s longest running commercial vehicle – we’re celebrating the pioneering T1 alongside nine other long-lived classic workhorses from across the decades.

Forming part of the overall classic scene, the different types of delivery vans and utility vehicles had their own character and quirky features and are fondly remembered by many because they were often seen every day and found just about everywhere.

Away from their prime purpose, vans were adapted as people carriers for taking friends and families on outings, while what may PAY have started as a vehicle that could provide FROM overnight accommodation for a travelling sales rep could also be used with removable equipment for weekends away or longer stays – kick-starting the camper craze.
