The RM Sotheby’s Arizona sale, January 19. An example of the new reality that has dawned upon the higher end of the collector market. By the end of 2016 values of these early alloybodied Dinos had soared to over £450k, which was also this ‘no reserve’ car’s low estimate. It was a good one too, just three owners – one being a famous architect – and sympathetically refurbished. That the seller was willing to take what he did shows the message has sunk in.
