On the peninsula...
…the Moidart Peninsula. Traditionally in the olden days Thursday was the run out to the Devil’s Staircase on the Moidart and this long winding test of a trials rider’s nerve has become legend in the event. No longer used for the six days and both unavailable and unrealistic for the pre ’65, the Staircase is nonetheless an attraction for riders in the Moidart Run. Access is allowed occasionally for those who know where the section is, people like this year’s guest of honour Eric Kitchen, for instance. Eric was on hand at the bowls club on the outskirts of Kinlochleven to set the mixture of road and comp based machinery off on their run round the peninsula.
