Nick Daniels’ 7Up RD350LC

-

If there was a single two-stroke special which RD-LC fans would remember, it would be this one: Nick Daniels’ LC. Featured widely in the magazines of the day in the early 1990s, this was a 1981 350LC with a welded and balanced crank, Powervalve pistons and a stage three Harry Barlow tune with a nitrous kit and a TZ close-ratio gearbox. Our own Stan Stephens sorted the front suspension, while the rear was a Spondon swingarm with standard LC shock. Braking was taken care of by the single 320mm Spondon disc with Lockheed twin-piston caliper and Goodridge hoses. It also sported a Harris Engineering mechanical anti-dive system. Nick actually bought the bike complete with the paint job in the late 1980s and it was seen regularly at the big events of the time into the 1990s. Nick was actually asked by the previous owner to keep the 7Up colour scheme, although he did get it updated by legendary 1990s paint-sprayer Andi Beazeley of Splat Design fame. It remains one of the most iconic two-stroke specials seen in the UK.
