Now with added nostalgia! Check out ‘The Way We Were!’

I thought you might be interested in my first restoration: a 1989 Yamaha FZR 600. I bought her last autumn, looking a little worse for wear in Loctite race livery and she promptly broke down on the motorway on the journey home due to a duff reg/rectifier. Once finally home I discovered a problem with the front sprocket nut – there wasn’t one! After a winter spent doing my best to bring her back to her former glory, I hope you’ll agree she looks fantastic and goes like stink! I’ve tried to keep her looking as original as possible, but upgrades include a Hagon rear shock, Hyperpro springs, EBC discs and pads, Hella braided hoses. The Yoshimura can was on when I bought her, as was a K&N air filter. All bearings are new, and the engine has had a top-end rebuild and is currently being run in! I did a lot of the work myself, but huge thanks to Hammer & Tongs Performance in Warrington, Motorcycle Paintwork FX in Lathom, F&J Blast cleaning in Skelmersdale and JRT Metal Finishing, Ashton.
