Pagination and price!

Classic Motorcycle Mechanics - - FEEDBACK -

Have to say, I do love CMM every month, especially the variety of eras and bikes covered, it’s excellent, but I have to make a few comments about the amount of adverts in the mag and the cover price. £4.20 and about 35 or so advert pages from a total of 132… bit too much of both, surely? Can’t we have more features and news please and some new products which seem like an after-thought at the moment. Dick Hemmings

Bertie says: “Well, what I can say Dick is this: our price is comparable with the opposition and we normally have more pages and more workshop/ technical pages too. Now, the adverts help pay for the magazine’s production – we literally couldn’t do it without them and people like seeing the ads for the various services. We also give you FREE classified ads for your bikes and parts. Finally, I buy LOTS of magazines and can often pay £4.30 for a mag with just 68 pages (a model-making magazine) or £4.99 for 116 pages (a retro video game magazine) so I think we are pretty much spot on. What is good is that we are also giving you a spread of new products a month AND a page of tested products from now on. Finally, we are updating our letter prizes and ‘Show Us Yours’ prizes, so we will cheer you up this month with a free set of Bridgestone tyres!”
