‘Mr Gold Star’ Ed­die Dow passed away on March 17. Born on June 26, 1924, Ed­die’s life re­volved around the BSA brand, orig­i­nally open­ing a deal­er­ship in Ban­bury in 1956, and from the early 1960s his fo­cus was solely on BSA. Such was the re­spect that BSA had for

him they wel­comed his im­prove­ments to the ma­chines they were pro­duc­ing and he was re­spon­si­ble for the devel­op­ment of the Gold Star and the cre­ation of the BSA Rocket Gold Star.
