SOUTHERN 100 STAL­WART DIES

Southern 100 Rac­ing Club pres­i­dent Derek Ni­chol­son passed away on July 8 af­ter a short ill­ness. Derek first be­came in­volved with the Southern 100 in 1974 and was elected to the com­mit­tee in Novem­ber 1982, be­com­ing chair­man two years later, a po­si­tion he held for some 18 years. In 2002 Derek was elected pres­i­dent of Southern 100 Rac­ing, a po­si­tion he held for 15 years. He was made a life mem­ber in 2010.
