A sharp start to the season Starter

Seven years in, and the Carole Nash Classic Bike Guide Winter Classic has come of age and is the equal of any other show on the calendar. This year’s guest of honour, the unassuming and modest racer Michael Rutter, proved an inspired choice and was popular with visitors. With a foot in both modern and classic racing, Michael – nicknamed ‘The Blade’ – had plenty of great stories to share. The Belgian team which provided his Classic TT Ducati, Red Fox Ducati, made the journey to the show and brought along the 2017 Classic TT Ducati, which was displayed alongside the TT2 of Michael’s father Tony, himself a hugely successful racer in the 1970s. The show boasted an increased number of trade and autojumble stands, while the expanded scooter sections – with two additional halls – proved popular with both scooter and motorcycle enthusiast alike.
