LARSÅKE THURES­SON

His name might not be fa­mil­iar to you, but the peo­ple he has pho­tographed over the years cer­tainly will be. Swedish pho­tog­ra­pher Larsåke has un­earthed a ver­i­ta­ble trea­sure trove of im­ages cap­tur­ing the great and good of rock both on and off stage. You can see some of his re­cently dis­cov­ered gems from p58.

able to sneak Clas­sic Rock, Metal Ham­mer, Prog and Louder’s Head Hon­cho Scott out of the many, many meet­ings he seems to find him­self in these days in or­der to dis­patch him to Bordeaux to go hang out with cover star Slash. Read what hap­pened on p26…

Stu­art is the au­thor of Trou­ble Songs: Mu­sic and Con­flict in North­ern Ire­land’ , an ex­clu­sive ex­tract of which be­gins on p44. Based in Belfast, he is work­ing on a film doc­u­men­tary of the book. For­merly As­sis­tant Ed­i­tor of NME (1992-96) he was of­fered out for a fight by Paul Weller, has been called “the wanker who started Blur ver­sus Oa­sis” by Noel Gal­lagher and “a tough Nordie c**t” by Bono.
