Al Rex

Pennsylvania-born Al Rex (real name Albert Piccirilli) was the bassist for Bill Haley & Comets and also that group’s predecessor Bill Haley and the Saddlemen. Noted for “wild antics” onstage, he became a musician in 1949. The 91-year-old the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee had retired from the music industry but continued to perform on occasion.
