‘My botched butt lift nearly killed me’

When Euromillions winner Jane Park, 21, decided she wanted a celeb-inspired bum, she flew to Turkey in order to have the op. Jane, who scooped £1 million on the Lottery when she was just 17, has spent £50k on plastic surgery since her big win in 2013, but this June she decided to have a Brazilian butt lift.

She says, “I wanted a fuller, perkier bum. I’d seen celebrities like Chloe Khan, who’s had the treatment and loved the results.”

Jane travelled to a clinic in Turkey that she chose due to its reputation and was pleased with the results. But days later, she suffered a severe allergic reaction.

She says, “I know the saying pain is beauty, but it was horrific. It started with a little pain in my left upper leg, a fever and then pins and needles. As soon as I told my doctor about my symptoms he told me to get straight to A&E.”

Doctors believed Jane had sepsis, a lifethreatening illness caused by the body’s response to an infection, which was treated with antibiotics. She says, “I was frightened and emotionally drained. When I heard the word sepsis and found out that it could be lethal, I was absolutely terrified.”

Yet despite the complications, Jane, who is now recovering, says she’s happy she had the surgery and may even consider more in the future.
