When news broke in Hollywood of sexual assault allegations against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, who could have predicted the aftermath? Here we are, less than six weeks later, and the scandal has not only spread across the world – engulfing celebrities and politicians – it’s even threatening to bring down our Government.
On p18, we look at how this movement is now empowering ordinary women to make a stand against sexual harassment in the workplace. Our shocking exclusive survey shows over 40 per cent of Closer readers have suffered harassment at work. One woman, Noeleen Mcaleenon, bravely told us she made a stand against a male colleague because “we deserve respect and dignity”. It’s high time this message was heard loud and clear.
