It’s al­ways been I a num­bers game in the dig­i­tal dat­ing world, but now it’s a lot more lit­eral thanks to a new study to mark the launch of new MTV dat­ing show Sin­gle AF.

Ac­cord­ing to new dat­ing data, you should wait three hours be­fore re­ply­ing to a mes­sage – any sooner and you’ll come across as too keen. I was al­ways told not to play games, but now that four out of five peo­ple meet on­line, it’s time to play by the new rules.

Face­book is the holy grail of ro­mance – it’s now the most pop­u­lar place to meet a new part­ner, hav­ing matched twice as many cou­ples as Tin­der. What I find most shock­ing is that one in five sin­gles now think they have a chance of dat­ing a celebrity be­cause of hav­ing easier ac­cess to them on Twit­ter and In­sta­gram.
