he thought of T go­ing through the menopause fills many women with dread, with ex­pec­ta­tions of hot flushes, weight gain and mood swings. While 46 per cent of women over 50 say “the change” dam­aged their con­fi­dence and two fifths said it had a neg­a­tive im­pact on their ap­pear­ance.

How­ever, last week, 50-yearold Pamela Anderson shunned the menopausal stereo­type as she opened up about her ex­pe­ri­ence of age­ing and said she felt sex­ier than ever.

She re­vealed, “I al­ways feared the menopause be­cause my mum had a re­ally hard time with hers. I def­i­nitely felt a change. I had empty nest syn­drome, all sorts of syn­dromes. Hor­mones! Hot flushes! Moods! It was all hap­pen­ing.”

How­ever, the for­mer Bay­watch star is de­ter­mined not to let the ef­fects stand in her way of liv­ing life to the full. And eight months ago, the ac­tress be­gan dat­ing French foot­baller Adil Rami, 32. She said, “I don’t do sweat­pants. I pre­fer lit­tle vin­tage slips, sexy things.”
